After the incident with Winn-Dixie and the thunderstorm, Opal becomes overwhelmed with love for the preacher. She explains that she loved the Preacher for forgiving Winn-Dixie for being afraid but that most of all, for ‘putting his arm around Winn-Dixie…like he was already trying to keep him safe.” Why does she feel this? Why does the Preacher's action mean so much to Opal?

She felt like that because she knows that the preacher already accepted Winn Dixie, that he loves Winn Dixie. The Preacher's action means a lot to Opal because if the preacher likes Winn Dixie, then he likes Opal, because Winn Dixie means a lot to Opal. I've thought of a connection. I read this story before, and it's about this girl, and her mom and dad has a trial seperation, but the girl gets super mad at her mom and dad just because they are seperated. At the ending, the girl finally realizes that her mom and dad loves herself(Stephanie) and her brother, (Bruce).

Opal loved the preacher a lot more than before because Winn-Dixie meant a lot to Opal and when the preacher put his hand around Winn-Dixie. Opal felt like the preacher wanted Winn-Dixie as a family and keeping him safe from thunderstorms. Since Opal loved Winn-Dixie and so does the preacher, Opal loves the preacher more than ever. This story reminds me of my own experiance, it was late and my favorite stuff toy Nona Puting was gone, the very next day my mom was searching the whole house, that day I loved her more than ever because she felt that Nona Puting was important to me although she didn't really like my stuff toys.

Opal loves the preacher because he forgives Winn-Dixie for being afraid, care and love Winn- Dixie. The preacher's action means so much to Opal because he loves Opal, so he loves Winn-Dixie. The preacher knows how important Winn-Dixie is to Opal. This chapter reminds me of one of my own experience. There was this really cool toy my mom bought for me and my sister and brother. My brother goes home first because he was in foundation. But when I got in my car to go back home, mom told me that Jason ( my little brother) didn't even open the new toy. He said he wanted to wait for us to open it. In that very moment, i felt so happy that i wanted to cry. I LOVE MY BROTHER! I said in my mind. I can't believe he waited for me and Sophia( my little sister) to open it, because normally he is selfish.

At that time, Opal loved the preacher so much when he put his hand around Winn- Dixie because it was just like he was welcoming Winn-Dixie into the family and also protecting him and loving him and most of all forgiving him for being scared of thunder and running around the house and breaking things. In the begining, the preacher might not have really wanted to keep Winn-Dixie, but he knows how much Winn-Dixie means to Opal so him loving Winn- Dixie is just the same as him loving Opal.I have seen a movie that relates to this chapter. This movie is talking about how a city teenage girl needs to move to her dads house in the country because her grandma needs to go learn in a school for old people becaus almost got crashed into a car with the teenage girl.At first, she doesn't even call her dad 'dad', but, after a while, she finds out how much her dad actually loves her and she loves him back.

Opal loves the preacher because he cares and protect Winn-Dixie.I watched a movie which is quite related to this,it was about a mom and dad were divorced, the dad's brother is an mask maker.he made a mask and gave it to him,the mask made the dad look like a old women. The dad pretended to be the mom and the kids baby sitter. At the end, the mom found out the dad was the baby sitter so she forgive the dad.

I think the preacher loves Opal because the preacher cares about Winn Dixie. At night, when there's a thunderstorm, Winn Dixie was very frightened and ran like a crazy leopard dashing around and around. Opal can tell that the preacher loves Winn Dixie when he told her that he will keep him safe and by putting his arms around Winn Dixie. To Opal, that means welcoming Winn Dixie to the warm family. Once, I went to an english class (Not in home) and I knew my brother's freinds will come and play Nerf Gun. After I ended my class, I bolted back home and saw my brother and his freinds sitting on a couch waiting for me. I was very thankful to them waiting for me to play because my brother is always SELFISH. Next time, I am going to do the same thing for him when he is going to a class!!!

Opal suddenly loved the preacher because she noticed that the preacher put his hand around Winn-Dixie. To Opal, it meant that the preacher had accepted Winn- Dixie, and welcomed him to the family, even though Winn-Dixie ran around like mad around the house and broke everything. Before I got my dog, Annie, my helper was very scared of dogs. but after we got Annie, she got over her fear and now, she walks Annie three times every day.

I think Opal loves the preacher because when the preacher hugged Winn-Dixie Opal knows that the preacher loved her because, even if Winn-Dixie was a unhealthy and ugly dog but he knows that the dog is very important to her so he respect Opal's ideas and protected Winn-Dixie from the thunderstorm.

I think Opal loves the preacher because he forgave Winn-Dixie for thrashing about in the house so then when the thunderstorm was over there was mess in the house! But the preacher welcomed him to the family by putting his warm arm over his head. I have watched a movie like this it is called Finding Nemo, At first nemo escaped from his dad because he does not want his friends to fell that he is a scaredy fish but in the end I found out that his dad actually loves him.
