On 13FEB2012, the G5s visited power generation station on Castle Peak Road. We learned that this one runs on coal, while the other two runs on oil and natural gas. Inside, there is a museum - ElectriCity where we listened to Uncle Cheung, watched video-clips, played with the interactive panels to learn about about electricity, where we get it, how much electricity is consumed by Hong Kong people and the efforts taken to lower the consumption amount and to improve on the efficiency and cleanliness of the plant's electricity production. We also got the chance to view the generators from a viewing platfom and a drive around the station revealed the mountain of coal needed to keep the plant running. It is clear that we need to really think about our energy use and how we want to live our lives.
